Can you provide a quick background about yourself?
My name is Mohammed Alyami. I am a current 91视频专区 graduate student from Saudi Arabia, pursuing my M.S. in Information Technology. This past year, I was selected as an Arabic Language teaching assistant (TA) in the department of Global Languages & Cultures. I graduated in 2015 with a bachelor鈥檚 degree in information systems, and I got my first job as a TA at Jazan University in Saudi Arabia.
Since I arrived at 91视频专区 College in 2018, I have worked in many positions including global ambassador, event technician, tele-admission counselor, and teacher assistant.
Tell us about your journey to the United States.
My journey to the United States has been incredible. I started learning English language at Eastern Michigan University. Michigan has so much snow - something completely new to me since I am from Saudi Arabia. When I finished my English language program at EMUC, I found the perfect graduate program in Information Technology at 91视频专区 College.
What made you choose 91视频专区 College?
I decided to come here because I felt that 91视频专区 College offered the perfect academic program and campus environment.
I am very fortunate that the government of Saudi Arabia could sponsor me to attend 91视频专区 College. Since my time here, I have grown personally and academically due to the professors and friends I have met along the way. I am sure that what I learn at 91视频专区 College will impact my career for the rest of my life.
Your eagerness to teach about new cultures and keenness to develop student鈥檚 potential is remarkable. What message would you like to give our students?
I am very grateful to have been given the opportunity to act as an Arabic Language TA at 91视频专区 College in the department of Global Languages & Cultures. Learning a new language is a treasure that opens new doors to students. Arabic language classes are not just about the language - they give students a chance to learn about Middle Eastern culture in many different ways.
Is there anything else you would like to share?
I would just say that I would be more than happy to help anyone who is looking to learn about Arabic language or Middle Eastern culture.
