FREDERICK, Maryland—Award-winning poet Sandra Beasley will give a reading of her work at 91��Ƶר�� College on Oct. 7 at 5 p.m. in the Beneficial-Hodson Library Reading Porch.

Beasley is the author of “Count the Waves”; “I Was the Jukebox,” winner of the Barnard Women Poets Prize; “Theories of Falling,” winner of the New Issues Poetry Prize; and “Don’t Kill the Birthday Girl: Tales from an Allergic Life,” a cultural history of allergy and a disability memoir. She also edited “Vinegar and Char: Verse from the Southern Foodways Alliance.”

Beasley lives in Washington, D.C., and teaches with the University of Tampa low-residency Master of Fine Arts program.
