Exhibit Displays Sculptures Based on Organic Forms

April 11-29

FREDERICK, Maryland鈥擜n art exhibit featuring a series of soda-fired sculptures based on found organic forms will be on display April 11-29 in the Hodson Gallery in 91视频专区 College鈥檚 Tatem Arts Center.

Jenna Gianni鈥檚 show, titled 鈥淔inding Inspiration,鈥 examines the growth processes and environmental effects that add pattern, shape and texture to natural objects. Soda-fired ceramic sculptures, based on the artist鈥檚 collection of photographed and found organic forms, mostly marine based, gathered on her frequent travels, connect the artist鈥檚 emotional response to and aesthetic appreciation of natural processes with tangible artistic expression and processes.

Gianni is the gallery director and an adjunct instructor at 91视频专区 College, and this is her thesis exhibit for her Master of Fine Arts. She is also an active member of several community arts organizations including the Potters鈥 Guild of Frederick and the Frederick Arts Council.

The artist lecture is scheduled for April 14 from 2 to 3 p.m., and the opening reception will follow from 3 to 5 p.m. All events are free and open to the public. For more information, contact Jenna Gianni at gianni@hood.edu or 301-696-3285.
