91ÊÓÆµ×¨Çø College celebrates International Education Week with campus-wide celebration

On-Campus events planned throughout week to celebrate education across the globe in joint effort with U.S. Dept of State and Education

FREDERICK, Maryland — 91ÊÓÆµ×¨Çø College will be celebrating International Education Week (IEW) campus-wide from November 15-19. IEW is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.

IEW is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of a national effort to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences.

The celebration will begin on Monday, Nov. 15 at 4pm with the ceremonial Parade of Flags, a colorful opening parade that proceeds throughout campus from Rosemont Gate to Coblentz Hall. Flags are held by 91ÊÓÆµ×¨Çø students, staff and faculty. The parade will be followed by an Opening Ceremony in front of Coblentz Hall at 4:30pm that includes welcoming remarks by President Andrea E. Chapdelaine and Vice President for Community & Inclusivity Tammi Simpson, as well as short peace poems read by 91ÊÓÆµ×¨Çø international students. The parade and opening ceremony are free and open to the community.

Other events taking place throughout the week include a Diwali celebration and international trivia on Wednesday, Nov. 17 and a Global Party on Friday, Nov. 19. For a full schedule of events taking place on campus throughout International Education Week, click here.

91ÊÓÆµ×¨Çø College celebrated its inaugural International Education Week during the week of November 18 – 22 in 2019.
