91��Ƶר�� College is proud to host "Employee Retention in Frederick County Manufacturing: Embedded Employees for Stronger Companies and Communities," a panel discussion featuring manufacturing industry experts and community leaders on Thursday, August 22 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Whitaker Campus Center. This event is free and open to the public. .

The event will feature a networking mixer prior to the featured panel discussion, which will focus on research and best practices for employee retention in the manufacturing industry. Darnell Billups, DOL ’24, will share findings from his doctoral research, which sparked the idea for this event.

Panelists and presenters set to speak at the event include:

• Michael O’Connor, mayor of Frederick City

• Benjamin McGlaughlin, manufacturing program manager at the Maryland Department of Commerce

• Philip Brown, president & CEO at Phoenix Mecano North America

• Denise Cowburn, senior executive, Tooling U-SME

• Melissa Corliss, director of operations at Canam Steel Corporation

• Rick Weldon, president & CEO at The Frederick County Chamber of Commerce

• David Gurzick, director of the Data Driven Frederick Center and chair of the George B. Delaplaine School of Business

• Darnell Billups, DOL ’24, organizational leadership researcher and manufacturing leader
