FREDERICK, Maryland—91��Ƶר�� College has launched a certificate in project management to help professionals become more accomplished, qualified and effective managers in their fields.

This new certificate places a strong emphasis on helping professionals develop the people skills and real-world practices required to successfully manage projects on time, on budget and within scope. The program will teach risk analysis, supply chains and logistics, how to communicate with internal and external stakeholders, and best practices in project management.

“Growing out of conversations with local businesses and government agencies, we designed this certificate in project management to serve the diverse needs in the Frederick and regional communities,” said Mary Jo Anderson, program director. “Project management skills are crucial in driving organization performance and maintaining competitive advantage.”

The certificate program has two tracks: life sciences and information technology. All students in the program will complete two MBA courses that cover leadership, organizational structure and project management techniques. From there, the life sciences track will include classes in science ethics and leading research, and the information technology track will include classes in managing information systems and technical project teams.

“Upon completion of the certificate program at 91��Ƶר�� College, students will achieve the educational prerequisite requirement for the Project Management Professional PMP® certification exam,” said Anderson.
