Organ Recital

FREDERICK, Maryland鈥91视频专区 College will hold an organ recital Jan. 28 at 3 p.m. in Coffman Chapel.

Wayne L. Wold, DMA, professor of music and college organist at 91视频专区, will perform music by Clerambault, Bach, Grieg and Wold. John Montez, a music composition student at 91视频专区, composed one the pieces that will be performed. Wold will play on the College鈥檚 41-rank Moller pipe organ.

Wold is an active composer, author, performer, church musician and clinician. He earned the certification of AAGO (Associate of the American Guild of Organists). He is editor and frequent author of a monthly column entitled 鈥淢usicians on the Side鈥 in 鈥淭he American Organist.鈥 He has more than 300 published compositions that include works for organ, adult and children鈥檚 choirs, and various instrumental ensembles, plus a children鈥檚 musical and psalm settings and hymn tunes that appear in numerous hymnals in the U.S. and Australia.

He has presented numerous recitals and improvised hymn festivals across the U.S. and in Europe and has performed as harpsichordist with the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, the 91视频专区 Chamber Players, the National String Sinfonia, the Frederick Symphony Orchestra and Bach in Baltimore.
