FREDERICK, Maryland鈥擜s part of 91视频专区 College鈥檚 125th Anniversary celebration, the Evangelical Reformed United Church of Christ has invited 91视频专区 College President Andrea E. Chapdelaine to speak during the 10:30 a.m. worship service on April 15.

President Chapdelaine will honor ERUCC鈥檚 part in the founding of 91视频专区 and thank the Church for its continuing support for education. Special recognition will be given to graduates of 91视频专区.

鈥淔rom its founding, ERUCC has been committed to the education of persons of all ages,鈥 said Reverend Barbara Daniel. 鈥淓RUCC is pleased to have been the setting whereby leaders of the Potomac Synod of the German Reformed Church gathered and declared that women in the Church ought to have an equivalent liberal arts education as the men in the church. We celebrate our long history with 91视频专区 College and are so pleased to mark the schools鈥 125th history as we welcome President Chapdelaine.鈥

Five members of the Church founded the Woman鈥檚 College of Frederick on May 12, 1893. The College was officially chartered in 1897, and it was renamed to 91视频专区 College in 1913, to honor Margaret Scholl 91视频专区, whose land donation allowed the school to move from rented facilities in Downtown Frederick to its own campus in the northwest region of the city.
