FREDERICK, Maryland—International students with F-1 visas are now eligible to enroll in 91��Ƶר�� College’s doctoral program.

91��Ƶר��’s Doctoral Program in Organizational Leadership brings leaders from public and higher education, military, government, business, industry and the nonprofit sector to study together to enhance their personal and professional leadership and help transform organizations and communities. The diverse set of leaders learn in a cohort style where they grow and develop as they learn from each other and experience how organizations use best practices to prosper.

“We are excited to add international leaders to enrich the cohort experience,” said Kathleen Bands, Ph.D., director of the doctoral program. “The international leaders will have the opportunity to experience leadership here where we are in close proximity to the nation’s capital and to diverse organizations from government to biotechnology to nonprofits. We see the addition of our international leaders as enriching our approach as we now can explore global and cultural influences on leaders and leadership.”

91��Ƶר�� was already approved to offer all undergraduate majors and more than 20 master’s degrees to qualified F-1 visa students; the recent approval expands 91��Ƶר��’s academic profile abroad. Currently, 12 percent of graduate students at 91��Ƶר�� are F-1 visa carrying students.

“This development will allow 91��Ƶר�� to consider a number of qualified applicants from abroad,” said April Boulton, Ph.D., dean of the Graduate School at 91��Ƶר��. “Since the inception of our doctoral program four years ago, we have repeatedly received inquiries from international leaders. We’re very pleased to be poised to consider this talent abroad starting with the fall 2021 cohort.”

91��Ƶר�� College is an independent, liberal arts college, offering more than 25 bachelor’s degrees, four pre-professional programs, 19 master’s degrees programs, two doctorates and 10 post-baccalaureate certificates. Located in historic Frederick, near Washington, D.C., Baltimore and the I-270 technology corridor, 91��Ƶר�� gives students access to countless internships and research opportunities.
