Trio tabbed Academic All-MAC

ANNVILLE, Pa.—Three members of the 91ÊÓÆµ×¨Çø College baseball team were voted to the Academic All-Middle Atlantic Conference team in voting by the conference's sports information directors.
and both repeated the honor, while earned the nod for the first time in his career.
Luscombe, a business administration major with concentrations in finance and marketing, was the MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Year and an all-conference first team pick. He ranked among the MAC Commonwealth leaders in innings (68.0, tied for third), strikeouts (53, fifth), wins (5, tied for seventh). A Dean's List student, the senior is a member of Chi Alpha Sigma and was honored with 91ÊÓÆµ×¨Çø's White Blazer Award, given for outstanding academic accomplishments, significant contributions to the community and excellence in intercollegiate athletics.
Sawyer is a business administration major with concentrations in accounting and finance. An All-MAC Commonwealth selection at first base, he hit .358, including .400 in conference play with an on-base percentage of .432 and 17 runs batted in. The junior is a two-way player and posted a 4-1 record on the mound with 40 strikeouts in 46 innings over 10 starts.
An integrated marketing communications major with a minor in graphic design, Patterson was named to the D3baseball.com All-Mid-Atlantic Region and ECAC All-Star third teams. He was an All-MAC Commonwealth First Team selection as a utility player for his play as both a hitter and a pitcher. On the mound, he ranked among the MAC Commonwealth leaders in WHIP (0.97, first), ERA (1.99, second), strikeouts (48, eighth), wins (6, tied for second). The senior threw back-to-back shutouts against Arcadia and Albright. Patterson was fifth in the MAC Commonwealth as a hitter with a .390 batting average.
The Academic All-MAC teams recognize the top student-athletes both in the classroom and on the field during the 2018 spring semester. The MAC sports information directors nominate and vote on the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight to both academic success and athletic success.
