Venezuelan Guest Lecturer

FREDERICK, Maryland鈥擵enezuelan professor Vicente Lecuna will visit 91视频专区 College on March 1 as a guest lecturer in two classes to share his expertise on urban planning and violence in Caracas, Venezuela.
Lecuna, Ph.D., will give a lecture in English on 鈥淭he Architecture of the Venezuelan Violent State: Caracas鈥 Parque Central鈥 in the Tatem Arts Center, Room 213 from 3:25 to 4:40 p.m. He will follow that with a lecture in Spanish to the Latin American Literature and Popular Culture class in Tatem, Room 214 from 5 to 6:15 p.m., in which he will discuss his research on Caracas鈥 Parque Central, as well as populism in Latin America.
Lecuna is an associate professor in the Department of Literature at the Universidad Central de Venezuela. He has published extensively on urban design, populism and contemporary narrative in Latin America. He served as Cisneros Visiting Scholar at the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies at Harvard University. Lecuna is currently a Craig M. Cogut Visiting Professor of Latin American Studies at Brown University.
